What is home staging?

Home staging is the service by which a styling and logistics team prepares ‘stages’ a home for sale, by bringing in furniture and accessories to present the home in its most appealing form. This then translates across photos and home opens to appeal to the buyers.

Crave’s experienced team takes the pressure off sellers by taking care of the transformation, delivering a stunningly presented property so it shines for marketing photos and home opens.

Do I have to pay upfront?

Crave requires a 25% deposit to confirm acceptance of the quote. Upon receipt of the deposit selected furniture is locked in for the confirmed installation date. The remaining 75% is due a minimum of five days prior the staging installation date. Deposits are non-refundable. Should acceptance of the quote be within five days of the installation date, full payment is required to secure the booking.

Can I live in the house?

Crave undertakes home staging of vacant properties only, therefore owners and/or tenants can not live in the property for the duration of the staging period.

Do you offer partial staging?

Whilst Crave will only stage properties that are vacant in terms of owners or tenants, they will consider partial staging jobs, whereby some furniture items remain along with Crave staging items or staging is only undertaken in agreed locations within the home.

How do I get started?

Simply Request a Consultation and a Crave consultant will be in contact to take further details and arrange a time to attend the property for a complementary consultation.

What can I expect from the on-site consultation

During the site visit, a stylist will discuss the property, any timeframes to consider, take photos of each space to be styled, select style direction, furniture items and prepare a quote for staging.

Do I need to be present for on-site consult?

It is not essential that you and/or your Agent be there for the on-site consult. With granted access, our Stylist can conduct the property consult, prepare the staging quote and email it through to you and talk you through it over the phone.

How long are quotes valid for?

The quotation is valid for 30 days, however the furniture that is selected during the site visit will only be confirmed and allocated to the property upon acceptance of the quote and receipt of the 25% deposit.

What if I need time to consider the quote and the furniture that has been selected is unavailable.

In this instance, alternative, similar furniture items will be selected to suit the property.

What to expect on the day of staging?

The installation process involves our team arriving on site at the arranged time. The team will deliver all the furniture, soft furnishings and accessories to furnish and style the property to ensure it is ready for sale. The styling process can take between 2-4 hours dependant on the size and access to the property.

Do I need to be present when property is staged?

You do not need to be present on the day of the installation. Access can be arranged prior to the installation date and a key can be left or collected from an agreed location. Alternatively, you or your Real Estate Agent can meet the team on site and simply return a few hours later to lock up. It is common practice for a Real Estate Agent to arrange for the keys to be collected from their office and then returned after the installation.

What is the duration of the staging contract?

The furniture hire period is 6 weeks from the date of the installation.

Do you offer extensions to the hire contract?

Crave offers short-term furniture/accessories hire as part of its staging service. In the unlikely event that you consider extending the hire contract, please contact Crave. Extensions are granted at the sole discretion of Crave to the maximum period of an additional 4 weeks. The additional cost for the extension will be charged at the rental value, excluding any discounts.

Can I buy some of this furniture?

Crave home staging furniture is available for hire as part of staging installations only. If you like the look of the furniture and/or accessories, our stylists may be able to suggest stockists for similar items.

Do I need artwork?

Artwork plays a major role in enhancing your property and engaging buyers. It is eye-catching in both photos and during home opens. The styling team only hang artwork to highlight the spaces appropriately and place artwork in logical places for the next buyer. Artwork is professionally hung with weight bearing fixtures.

Can I hang artwork myself to save money?

We do not hang our artwork with anything other than what is supplied by the specialist hanger. 3M hooks or similar may come off and damage our artwork or potentially damage the wall, floors or skirting boards in the property.

Can I supply some of my artwork and accessories to save money?

Unless this has been specifically identified and suggested by the stylist during the consultation appointment, Crave will not use artwork already in the home. The Crave styling process involves co-ordinating furniture and accessories to work in with the artwork, therefore it is much easier when sourcing from our curated range of furniture items. This also makes for a simpler collection process and no confusion with product being incorrectly collected as it all belongs to Crave.

Can I select the style for my home staging?

Styling selection is at the discretion of Crave’s experienced team of Stylists – that’s the service you are paying for! They will determine the style direction that will best suit the property, location and target buyer. The main purpose for staging and styling a home is to appeal to your optimum buyer, which may or may not be your own style preference. You can trust the expertise of your Crave styling team.

What happens if there is a delay for any reason and I need to reschedule my installation date?

Crave are very flexible and understanding that issues can arise. We will endeavour to reschedule to the next available date that we can install.

Will everything be insured, or do I have to insure in case of theft or damage?

All items supplied by Crave are fully insured.
